Reader's Digest 2012 Volume 1

One summer: Jack, terminally ill and preparing to say goodbye to his family, has a miraculous recovery after his wife is killed in a car accident and struggles to reunite his family at her childhood home on the South Carolina oceanfront.

Cast into doubt: When a young woman disappears from a cruise ship her mother tries to determine how such an "accident" could have happened.

Casting about: Cedar Cover, Florida knitting shop proprietor and newlywed Monica Brooks and her husband David are blind-sided when they discover that David's ex-wife has been declared an unfit mother and that custody of his eight-year-old daughter is being transferred to David. Monica has doubts about her parenting ability but finds that friends and relatives are happy to rally around Monica and her fragile new family.

The lion: Asad Khalil, the notorious Libyan terrorist otherwise known as "The Lion," has returned to America to make good on his threats and take care of unfinished business. John Corey, former NYPD homicide detective and special agent for the Anti-Terrorist Task Force, will stop at nothing to find and kill Khalil.
