The Oxford Compact Dictionary and Thesaurus

This dictionary and thesaurus provides 125,000 dictionary definitions and entries along with 138,000 alternative words. In addition, an appendix containing thematic lists of related words provides extra help with vocabulary building. It also features language panels to explain points of grammar and in-text usage notes to highlight words and phrases which often cause confusion. Help on pronunciation is given for awkward words, and alternative spellings (including US variants) are listed for words where necessary. All the information about each word is integrated within one entry.
