Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

There can be no doubt that Harry's life has radically changed. In fact life for the entire magical community has changed for now it is a well known and accepted fact that He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named (Voldemort to those who can force themselves to say the name) is once again on the loose and a danger to everyone, including Muggles. For Harry there is the additional pain and grief that he is experiencing because of the death of his guardian and god-father, Serious Black. And yet, life must go on and Harry and all the other students of Hogwart's School of Witchcraft and Wizardry get ready for a new school year. Of course now the students are carefully watched and protected at all times, especially Harry, for one never knows when Voldemort or his servants are going to strike next.
Back in school things are much the same except that now Harry is the Gryffindor Quidditch team captain and he and his friends are definitely getting more interested in the whole boyfriend, girlfriend thing. Harry cannot seem to get Ginny Weasley out of his mind and as for Ron and Hermione…well they are fighting like cats and dogs. Then there is a copy of a textbook which Harry has found and is using. In it there are notations and tips written by someone who called himself "The Half-Blood Prince." Because of the book Harry has become the top student in the Potions class and he certainly has found some very interesting spells to use. Harry cannot help wondering who this Half-Blood Prince was and where he is now.
In the new atmosphere steeped in fear and caution, Harry and the headmaster of Hogwarts, Professor Dumbledore, try to find out more about their enemy Voldemort, and about the man he was before he became a dark wizard. Perhaps if they understand him better they will be able to find his weak spot and thus destroy him.
Perfectly paced and with threads of fear, humor, and self discovery running throughout, this latest instalment in the Harry Potter series is a powerful tale which will grip the imagination of everyone who reads it.
